After a summer of sunshine, warmer weather and busy days, your skin might be feeling a little different. As autumn arrives, you may notice more dryness, dullness or uneven texture, especially when the heating goes on and the air gets cooler.
It’s a lovely time to check in with your skin and give it a little extra care. Here’s what we’d recommend looking for in an autumn facial.
For skin that feels dry: focus on hydration
If your skin feels tight or looks a little dull, a hydrating facial is a good place to start. At New Faces, Hydradermie 1000 is one of our recommendations for skin that could use a moisture boost. Your therapist can talk you through the treatment and tailor it to what your skin needs on the day. A facial can also be a good opportunity to review the products you’re using at home. The lightweight moisturiser that worked well in summer might need a little help as the weather changes.
For a dull complexion: try a gentle refresh
If your skin has lost some of its glow, it can be tempting to reach for a strong exfoliator. A gentler approach may suit your skin better, particularly if it’s feeling dry or sensitive too. During your appointment, we can assess your skin and recommend a facial that leaves it feeling fresh and comfortable, along with advice on how often to exfoliate at home.
For sensitive skin: keep it simple
Cooler weather can leave some skin feeling more reactive. If you’ve noticed redness, tightness or irritation, let your therapist know before your treatment. We can talk through what you’ve been using and help you choose an approach that suits your skin. And whatever the season, don’t forget your SPF. Autumn sunshine still counts!
