Booking your first facial is a lovely way to make some time for yourself, but it’s natural to have a few questions. Which treatment should you choose? What happens during your appointment? And how should you care for your skin afterwards? At New Faces Beauty Clinic, we want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident about your treatment. Here’s a guide to what you can expect.
Choosing Your Facial
You don’t need to know everything about your skin before booking. Perhaps it has been feeling dry, you’ve noticed a change in its appearance, or you simply want to give it a little extra attention. If you’re unsure which facial to choose, get in touch with our team before booking. Let us know what you’d like help with, and we can guide you through the options.
Before Your Appointment
There’s no need to do an elaborate skincare routine in preparation for your facial. It can be helpful to know which products you currently use, particularly anything prescribed for your skin. When booking, mention any recent skin treatments or concerns that might affect your appointment. Our team can advise whether there’s anything specific you should do beforehand. And don’t worry if you arrive wearing makeup. Cleansing is part of the facial process.
Starting With a Consultation
Your appointment begins with a conversation about your skin. This is an opportunity to discuss your current routine, any sensitivities and what you’re hoping to get from your treatment. Let your therapist know about allergies, relevant medication or previous reactions to products. Even if something seems small, it’s worth mentioning. You’re welcome to ask questions too. Whether you want to understand a treatment step or know more about a product, we’re happy to explain.
During Your Facial
The exact steps will depend on the facial you choose and your skin’s needs. Your treatment may include cleansing, exfoliation, a mask, massage or specialist techniques. Your therapist will explain what’s involved so you know what to expect. Once you’re settled, you can relax and enjoy some time to yourself. Comfort matters throughout your appointment, if a product feels uncomfortable, or you’d like anything adjusted, let your therapist know straight away.
After Your Treatment
Before you leave, your therapist will talk you through the aftercare for your particular facial. Advice can vary between treatments, so follow the guidance given at your appointment rather than a general routine you’ve found online. This may include when to apply makeup, which products to use or temporarily avoid, and how to keep your routine gentle afterwards. Your therapist can also advise on moisturiser and daily sun protection. If you’re interested in homecare, ask which steps would be most useful for your skin. You don’t need to overhaul everything at once.
Ready for Your First Facial?
You don’t need perfect skin, a complicated routine or any previous experience to book a facial. Bring your questions, tell us what you need, and we’ll help you take it from there.
